I have a George Dorance Pettingill b 12 Aug 1773 RI M Eunace Murray b 22 Jun 1775 Providence RI with 8 children;3d c is John Greene Pettingill b 18 Jan 1807 Providence, d 9 Jan 1866 St. Charles, IL m 17 Oct 1832 to
Amanda Cook in Onondaga, NY. George kept detailed records of work, homes, jobs, and family history for 3 or 4 generations except for one child, John G. Pettingill, who married an Mohawk girl. I have a House family cousin who has a wedding photograph of the bride in native costume.
It is noted that the book The Pettingell Genealogy, does not mention Native Americans, Roman Catholics, nor founders of the Mormon church. John Pettingill family removed to Il and to Iowa.

I have a lot of documented family history in various places, but it has been touch and go since my wife departed for the San Jacinto Valley National Cemetery. I am 82. So, if you respond it may take a while to get back to you.
I am registered with NARF and with NAIEA as an Iroquois, also, on my maternal side, my 10th GGM is Nicketti Powhattan and Trader Hugh Lewis (of Opechancanough), all prooven by family history and genetics.
