My grandpap, Michael Petro, emigrated to the Uniontown, Pa area in 1905 from then Austria-Hungary, following his brother. He became a citizen in 1916. He worked in the coalmines until 1917 when he bought a grocery store in Uniontown. He had the following children Edward (my dad), John, George, Michael, Frank, Charles and Irene. Edward, John and George all stayed in Uniontown and are still living there. Mike and Frank both lived in Baltimore until their deaths, Irene lived in Cleveland and is now in Florida. Charles lived in California and is now back in Uniontown. Grandpap died in 1967, his first wife - Mary, my dad's mom died in 1921. His second wife, Katherine, died sometime around 1973.
