My maternal grandmother was Emily Petro Minnick, born around 1913 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Her parents were Helen Petro (that was her maiden name!) and Thomas Petro (his naturalization papers listed him as "Tomas"). Helen was born in the US; I believe she was also born in Wilkes-Barre. My great-grandfather was born in what was then Austria-Hungary. Grandmom was the second of six kids; the other five were John (nicknamed "Pete"), Thomas, Helen, Albert, and Anna. I don't know how many siblings my great-grandmother had, but I did meet two of them: my great-great aunt Margaret, who married Jack Subich (or something like that) and moved to Gary, IN, and my great-great uncle Jack. Thomas Petro Sr. brought his sisters over from "the old country." I know one of them married someone with the last name Kovalic and had three kids: Joseph, Mary, and Ann. If anyone has any information about any branches of my maternal grandmother's family, please let me know! Thanks, --Lynn
