Yes, my grandmother, Clarisse, is still living in an elderly complex in St Leonard. She is 97 yrs old now.

She is unfortunately of little help on this subject.
Apparently my grandfather, Alexander, never spoke of his family. He passed away in 1992, the last of all of George Harvey's children. Leaving us with questions and no answers.

My mother has spoken many times of the fact that he hid his heritage. He refused to speak of it. Even my grandmother knows very little. It is said that George was a full blooded indian and that he married Venerante Rossignol, also a full blooded indian. Meaning the children from that marriage were full blooded.

Marie Ruest, his 2nd wife was white. So, my grandfather was only half indian. So goes the family stories.

My problem is that I cannot find anything to steer me in the indian heritage direction. All census info has the race stated as "french"........

If you are able to let me know as to where to find the info I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanx loads.
