1893 photo of Samuel Peterson, Los Angeles, CA
Posted by: Paul Peterson (ID *****2235) Date: December 04, 2007 at 16:22:03

Earlier today I purchased a studio (L. E. Kratzer, 219 Silver St., Lebanon, Ohio) portrait identified on the back as:

Samuel Peterson
Los Angeles, Cal.
Fall Sci. '93 N.N.U.

I can't find this person in the census records with any degree of certainty.

The National Normal University (N.N.U.) is a defunct school that was located in Lebanon, OH. Ten years after changing its name to Lebanon University, it closed in 1917. On a web site devoted to its history, there is posted a class photo of the "Fall Scientific Class N.N.U. 1893." There are two other Petersons shown in this class photo--U. L. Peterson and C. A. Peterson, but no Samuel Peterson, which is a bit puzzling to me.

This Peterson is no Known relation of mine, despite the fact that we share the same surname.

I am trying to locate a living descendant. Contact me if you wish to view and/or acquire this photo.
