Pierre Henri Peterson-dit-Olinde, Pointe Coupee, LA
Does anyone have any information on Pierre Henri Pertresset (Peterson) believed to be from Holland, living in Ft. Smith, Arkansas before migrating to Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. He is believed to be Ditch and that the British at Fort Smith called him "Holland," which they pronounced "Olland."In Louisiana it was apparently corrupted further to "Olinde," the phonetic spelling of Holland as it is pronounced in French.
