They are indeed related, Ed. The son of Moses and Vesta Peterson is is my 3g grandfather Moses Peterson (b.1/7/1799 in So. River/Washington; d. 4/19/1875 in So. River.)He m. Ann Embly, and among their five children is another Moses Peterson, my 2g granduncle (b. 1829 in So. River, d. 10/6 1864 while serving on the USS Whitehead, a tin-clad gunboat involved in the battle of Plymouth, NC). He m. Ellenore Martin and they, too had a son named Moses (b. 1862 in So. River, d. 1933).Most of the Petersons, beginning w/ Moses and Ann, are buried in So. River's Washington Monumental Cemetery.
I'm descended from the middle son of Moses and Ann, Stephen H. Peterson, and his son, Alvie A. Peterson. Alvie's daughter Myrtle M. Peterson is my grandmother, who m. Thomas Meyer.
What's your Peterson connection, Ed? I've got quite a few blanks to fill in but have a substantial amount of info on this family. Here's hoping we can help one another!
Regards,
Dick in Princeton NJ
