I have the following info on my great-great grandfather. If there is a connection I would love to know what you've got.

Heinrich Gotbar Petersen, b. Apr. 4, 1856 - d. Oc6t. 27, 1928, had 5 sisters: Anna, Chatharine, Elisa, Christina, and Marie. He had 2 brothers: Peter and Thomas. As a younger son he had no land of his own and joined the German army. He was stationed at Flensberg in the province of Schleswig - Holstein, which had been occupied by both Denmark & Germany but was then German. It is there he met his wife Margaretha Metta Lund.

Heinrich & Margaretha immigrated to the Fargo, ND area with their family. They were Lutheran. Margaretha was supposed to be instremental in establishing the church now known as St. Johns Lutheran in Verona, ND.
