Carsten C Petersen and Catherine Thies
Posted by: Matt Petersen (ID *****0285) Date: March 01, 2011 at 18:28:57

I am looking for information on Carsten C Petersen born in or around 1845 or 1847 in Germany, possibly in the Hanover area. I don't have any information on his wife other than that her name was Catherine Thies. His son is my Great-Grandfather Anton J Petersen born February 24, 1877 in Hanover, Germany.

Carsten arrived in New York on July 2, 1906 aboard the ship Bulgaria. He is listed as a widower on the ships manifest. His stated destination is Hale, Iowa in Jones County where he was to join his son Anton Petersen. Carsten died in 1909 in Woodbury County, Iowa and is buried at Midway Cemetary (Saint Pauls's Cemetery)in Morgan Township.

I am looking for help and information on Carsten and Catherine in Germany. Who were their parents? When were they married? Did they have any other children? Where did they live?

Thanks You in advance,

Matt Petersen
