I recently discovered a 1959 news article about Fred McGraw Peterman in Hagerstown, MD who was an avid collector of antiques, civil war relics and family heirlooms. He reportedly owned a walking cane belonging to revolutionary ancestor Valentine Peterman.
He died in in 1963 and wife Flora Maude Eakle Peterman died in 1990 with no direct heirs. I am hoping to hear from other researchers who may be able to help me confirm the connection between the Peterman families of Washington Co., MD and Henry Valentine Peterman of York & Lycoming Co., PA
I would also like find whether the walking cane is still in possession of family members.
