Elizabeth and Mary Person, NC, 1800s

My ggg-grandmother was Elizabeth Person (Feb 1804 - Mar 1874), who married Allen C. Perry (Sep 1804 - Nov 1889)in Franklin County, NC, on 1 Oct 1827. From an 1829 land record, it seems that Elizabeth's father was a William Person, and a sister Mary. Mary married William D. Davis.

From material found online, primarily on Mark Freeman's site and census records, it appears likely that our William
Person/Elizabeth Person fits in there some place, and there appear to be several possible Williams - the most likely seeming to be William Person III, son of the William who moved from Brunswick to Bute, and died there.

From the census records, there are two William Persons, of about the same - and right - age, and who consistently show up in the census, one in Franklin, and one in Warren. Of these, the one in Franklin seems to have daughters of the right age that show up in the 1810 Franklin County census, and have disappeared in the 1830 census - at the same
time Allen Perry and wife (with two young children) show up for the first time in the Franklin census.

Any help anyone can provide that might help establish which
William was the father of Elizabeth and Mary, and how that ties into, as I'm fairly sure it does, more established Person family tree info would be most appreciated.
