Recollections Capt David Perry 1822 VT
Help! Capt. David Perry, b Rehoboth, MA 1741 and d Ira, VT 1826, is searching for his posterity!
He wrote his memoirs for them, printed free for him by Simeon Ide in 1822 Windsor, VT.It is called "Recollections of an old soldier: the Life of Capt. David Perry, a soldier in the French and Revolutionary Wars..." [written when David lived in Chelsea, VT].
David Perry and his wife Anna Bliss, also both in Rehoboth, had 7 children: the first 5 children - Sarah, Sylvanus, Anna, David, Lucy, Mary (or Polly), and - were born in Killingly, CT; and the last 2 - Hannah, and Nathaniel Green Perry - were born in Plainfield, NH.
He wrote his book in 1819 as an inheritance for his posterity (his only "treasure"). It is unknown to many of them. I am helping him search for his descendants (I am of Sarah [Perry] Bingham's line, David's oldest child.)
I would like to find out what happened to his other children and share information (especially his "Recollections" with his descendants. If you have information, please help!
His book is online at
Are you a descendant? Please post a reply here! Thanks!
