Earl Perry 11/02/05
Let's put it this way - your John is no direct relation to my Perry ancestors - but ....
Was his name spelt Perry or have you by chance also sence it written as PERY.
I ask because my Perry line originated in Devon, England and a generation or so before my Perrys headed to New England in the 1630s and then ended up in Tipperary around 1657 their cousins had settled in Limerick and eventually became the Earls of Limerick. They spelt their name PERY and still carry the name today. The younger cousins that settled in Tipperary spelt their name Perry.Earlier it had also been spelt Perey.
If you think your John might be a Pery feel free to e-mail me and I will pass on what I have on that part of the family... (Which isn't too much.)
Karen
