Now the tough part starts, you need to document all this. The census records are a wonderful start and the Tree I found sure is the right Pitts family. But you still need to verify where he found his info. Marriage,Death, Cemetery, SS applications, Obit & newspaper articles will help with this. There might be something about the death of Waters Phillip Perry since it was a shooting. You know from John Perdue Perry's WW1 draft registration that he & Lillie were already married by Sept 1918. And John P. Perry jr was 2 on the 1930 census. Sooooo, Waters Phillip Perry died between 1915 & 1918??
Plus there has to be a Cemetery in Richland Co, Columbia that is filled with your Perry & maybe even Pitts family members.
The daughter, Odell Perry 2, on the 1910 census must have died young? It is always wonderful to document a child that died young and was forgotten. Now she will be given her rightful place in the family.
For your research:
1900 SC, Aiken Co, Gregg twp
is where Joseph Pitts (widowed) with his children, Daisy, Lillie, Charles, Thomas & Freddie. You might be able to locate a death/cemetery record for his wife there.
1910 SC, Saluda Co
Joe M. Pitts is with his new wife & Tommie, Fredie & Annie S. (daughter by his new wife. They may have married there.
1920 SC, Saluda Co
Joseph M. Pitts with the same wife & their daughter now listed as Sarah A., dont you just love how their names keep changing.
Freddie/Fred Lee Pitts bn 20 Feb 1898 per his WW1 draft registration. He is the one that married Ida Perry.
You can print out my replies in a nice format by going to each reply, go to the very bottom of the page, click on print message, then click on print. It will print out a clean page with no graphics, nice to put in your research binder.Plus it will allow you to review all this data over time; you must be on 'information overload' by now. And its easy to miss a small clue/lead.
Glad I could help & have fun,
Marsha
