Thank you Wayne for replying. My origin is thru the Merritt Perritt / Parrott lineage. I sincerely hope others will further this project and help all of us to find better answers.
There is just one thing I would like to point out to others of this lineage ~ in the 1860 census Merritt Perritt told that he was born in North Carolina. Does anyone know where?
