Thank you for a reply Mary Lou.

I sent your information onto Mike and this was his reply back:

"I already have Samuel Perrin of the 25th Inf., City Bn. documented. There seems to be some confusion among some of his descendants as to his death and service because there are two Companies listed for service (Co. A on his stone and Co. E in all the records) two death dates and two causes, but only one soldier and one widow found in all my searches. I will need to look at this individual more closely to be assured that I have not overlooked something. The Monument has two S. Perrin names, one Other Infantry and one Other Artillery - died. I have only found one S. Perrin soldier and the 25th Inf. also manned artillery at Chaffins's Bluff so I am not sure of which one is the correct service branch.

I also have info on Junius Pericles Perrin of the 1st Inf., Co. D. He was mortally wounded at Dinwiddie C.H. and died of wounds a few weeks afterwards. He is also ON the Monument."

I am looking for a *J. Perrin* for the Other *Artillery* name I have not documented."

Any more help would be most appreciated.

Gail Vass
