Pelina Perrin, also found as Pauline and Paulina Perrin, was an unmarried sister of Amelia Young in the 1870 census of Halifax County, Virginia, which you cite. This is proved by the following deed:
Hanover County, Virginia deeds, Vol. 4, pg. 483,21 September 1855, Permelia A. Young, nee Perrin, joined with her three siblings, Rebecca T. Perrin, Jane M. Perrin, and Pauline L. Perrin, to release their interest in 250 acres of land known as the "Merry Oaks Tract", "being children and heirs of John Perrin, who was a son of the said Isaack Perrin, dec'd." (Permelia signed her name Amelia M. Young.)
I would like to hear from you if you are searching the Perrin name.
