My Great Great Grandmother was Eliza Jane (Perrin) Daniel, wife of Thomas Daniel, daughter of Col Thomas Perrin and grand daughter of Capt Thomas Perrin. Eliza's brother wrote the Perrin book. I have an original copy. There are many mistakes in this book. I also in Brant County. Captain Thomas Perrin got land leases from Chief Joseph Brant in 1801 at Mohawk or Mount pleasant, Ontario. I was told last fall by the United Empire Loyalist Association which I am a member that Captain Thomas Perrin was a Loyalist due to his rush to the flag in the War of 1812 to form his own Militia unit. I have always wondered why has came to Mount Pleasant/Brantford. In the Perrin book it says he came to todays Brantford in 1796. Granville NY was not too far from Rev battle sites and six Nation or Iroquois. Thomas may have been good friends of the Indians and thus sided with the British They did much trade with the Indians early at Brantford. Everyone who researches this family has the same question where was Cap and Col. Thomas Perrin born. I would like to know. They all have the same first name.
