I would like to know if anyone has actual evidence, real birth records etc., to confirm that Thomas Perrin of Mt. Pleasant, Ontario is the same Thomas who lived in Granville NY and was descended from Thomas and Martha Savery, Thomas and Jerusha Porter etc.
I realize there are books written listing that ancestry. However, I am looking for any actual record that supports that idea.
Thomas and Elizabeth Perrin had children that were born in Massachusetts (according to census data) betweent 1788 adn 1793. They had a daughter born in NY and a son born in "US" The first child born in Ontario is Orry in 1803.
Thomas Daniel Perrin, son of the above Thomas and Elizabeth said in his history that he was born in Springfield Massachusetts. He says he was born in 1791 but when he was baptized as an adult he said he was born in 1793.
The descendants of Thomas and Elizabeth mostly follow information in the history that Thomas Daniel wrote - however, the history about his father and above was given to him by someone else and lists no sources. It was not his personal knowledge that he was writing. In addition, his history is full of errors of almost every kind.
I am interested to know if anyone has found any actual source data to support this line. Even just some data that would indicate that Thomas Perrin actually lived in Springfield Massachusetts.
Certainly I know there are Thomas Perrins in every place mentioned in all the books about this line. The question is, does anyone have any real source data that indicate the Thomas who lived in Brantford, Brant Co., Ontario, also lived in Massachusetts (Springfield?) and Hebron, Connecticut?
