Hi Marcel and David. I have a cousin David perrett, couldnt be the same person could it???:) Ok I live in Australia now, from NZ originally, and for some time I have also been digging into the Perrett Lineage. My Grandfather always said that he believed we came from William the conqueror too. Herbert was his name, and we are definately from Wales before the emigration that happened in our family.

I have got as far back as John and Mary(nee Lang) married 1792 in Allington Dorset. They had I think five children, the youngest of which began our line. She was Sarah, and she Had a son William out of wedlock, and when he was 18 they sailed to NZ on the Timandra.

Sarah married an older Man by the name of Samuel Crann and had two more children.

William however married Mary Ann Hurlstone, and together they had 17 children in total.
One of which (John was my grandfathers father. Now there is much more to this story than i can print here and now, so if anyone regonises the names, please contact me regarding this, as I would like to link with the Perretts in England very much, I believe that Allington is now a suburb of Bridport. But as I said we are definately of Welsh and by the looks of it French descent. The Perrett name has popped up quite often where the Royal family is concerned,as it seems that there is a connection there somewhere, what we care not to speculate but, even back to the courts of Henry the V111, there came a John Perrett as a result of a union between a Mr Berkerley and Henry.

Ok Having said all of that, I'm still digging and I am really hoping someone out their knows of the Perrett family in Dorset that are possibly related to the very Late Sarah that left her homeland in 1842. Her son William was born in 1820.

Their are hundreds of us in NZ :)

My Mum was a Perrett, but she has two brothers Lionel and Henry and their families.

Thanks in anticipation Sharon Anderson.
