Perna family in Brazil
Posted by: Mario Soarez Date: May 01, 2001 at 18:01:17

My name is Mario Soarez, I am a Brazilian citizen from São Paulo City where we had a big immigration wave in the beginning of the XX century, including my great grandfather, Liberato Perna, from Foggia, Italia. He was married to Mercedez Soarez, from Spain. Both them arrived in Santos Seaport by the 20´s. My grandfather was Miguel Perna Soarez, my father Mario Gonçalves Soarez due to the spanish tradition to keep the last name as being from the woman, I lost my "Perna", but we are a large family-community in the State of São Paulo living in many cities and towns in the Southeastern Brazil.
I tought interesting to tell you all about this when I was in research on the web and I saw this page.
Thanks for this chance.
Mario, São Paulo, Brazil
