My great grandfather was William Henry Perkins b. 1833 in Orange County New York. He went to South Carolina, then to Alabama (Green County) and then to Lowndes County, Mississippi. His older brother James C. Perkins b. 1826,settled in Marion, Perry County Alabama. His wife was Emma Clark Hines, b. 1836. James children were Minnie, Emma Hines b. 1866, William H., b. 1854, Alabama, b. 1864. William H. b. 1833 and James C . father was Benjamin Perkins, born abt 1800-01 in Connecticut. Benjamin lived most of his life in Orange County, New York where he died in 1875. The other children of Benjamin were Melinda S., Hannah Maria, Emily C., Charles Sears, John Peter, and Benjamin (Charles, John P. and Benjamin settled in Lowndes County after the Civil War.) I have a lot of information re the Perkins family. W. Lee Perkins
