Our real dilemma is our Phebe Perkins m.James Thurston re:Vital records of Bridgewater, MA
This family and their siblings all named children after the parents in the sometimes typical way of naming the first son after the most recently deceased grandparent, etc.
But the first son of James and Phebe is Obed. There are no Obed's in the Thurston line. It must be an Obed Perkins we are searching for, and since we do not know the name of Phebe's parents, Obed seems like a good start.
There are other names of Phebe's children that do not make sense to be from the Thurston line and thus, would be Perkins names.
Previously to this, some have declared Phebe to be the daughter of John Perkins and Mercy/Marcy Jackson. But there are just not the "right" look to the names involved here. There were lots of Phebe's running around.
If anyone has an Obediah/Obadiah/Obed Perkins that is born early enough to be the father of Phebe b. abt. 1722, please let us know!
