I am not a Perkins researcher, but I am posting this for descendants so they can understand that Huldah Catherine McDonald had married twice before she married third David K Perkins, the son of Isaac Perkins.

Isaac Wickliffe b. 1805's 3rd marriage on 7 Jan 1874 was actually to Huldah Catherine McDonald born 23 Jan 1849 MO d. 2 Oct 1923 Moundville, Vernon Co. MO. This was none other than a SISTER to the Jeptha McDonald, Missouri Jane McDonald who both married Wickliffes. So in his old age Isaac Wickliffe (for whom it was a 3rd marriage) married a MUCH younger woman.

Huldah Catharine McDonald, who was the son of Thomas McDonald and his wife Rebecca Johnson (see 1870 census Benton Co MO) married THREE times. She was Huldah Catherine (McDonald) CLAYTON when she married Isaac Wickliffe b. 1805. And they were married by Justice of the Peace Callaway Green Heath, the same Heath they sold their land to later in Jan 1875. In the 1870 census for Benton Co MO you will see the family was living in the household of a blacksmith named Philip Clayton. Well Huldah Catherine McDonald went on to marry him first. Benton Co MO marriage index says she married Philip Clayton on June 8, 1870. Something must have happened to him or they divorced because she married 2nd Isaac Wickliffe on 7 Jan 1874. Then Isaac Wickliffe died. She married 3rd ca. 1878 David K PERKINS b. 11 Jan 1849 Moundville, Vernon Co. MO. (Her sister Missouri Jane Wickliffe was also living in Vernon co MO by then.) The family are in the 1880 census for Cherokee Co KS, 1900 and 1910 for Vernon Co. MO.

His parents were Isaac Perkins b. 18 Feb 1816 Franklin Co. MO and Nancy S. Bell b. 1820 Franklin Co. MO. Huldah Catherine (McDonald) (Clayton) (Wickliffe) Perkins was buried in Wellborn Cemetery, Vernon co. MO as was her 3rd husband. Huldah died of typhoid fever.

David and Huldah Perkins are in the 1880 census for Lola, Cherokee Co KS where Morgan Wickliffe was also living. They are in 1900 for Vernon Co MO and 1910 and had children.
1900 census had these children:
Mary J. Perkins born Jan 1881 MO
Thomas B. Perkins b. Aug 1883 MO
David E Perkins b. Dec 1884 MO
Benjamin F. Perkins b. Aug 1886 MO
Daniel B. Perkins b. Sept 1887 MO
Ida J. Perkins b. Jan 1890 MO m. RAMSEY
Last one looks like a Terra C. Perkins b. May 1892

In the 1910 census Hulda says she's had 9 children 8 living. There is a Rootsweb posting for Huldah Catherine McDonald and David K Perkins but it did not list their children. They had a note on it that said Rinda (Perkins) tucker and Ida (Perkins) Ramsey. This family who posted the marriage did not seem to know that Huldah Catherine was on her 3rd marriage when she married David Perkins. But the email address on the posting is no longer valid.

When Isaac Wickliffe b. 1805 married in 1874 Huldah Catherine McDonald Clayton he was 69 and she was 25--NO WONDER HE DIED SHORTLY AFTER THEY MARRIED!!!

NOW if people want 'proof' I have two items to prove all of this and will be happy to provide it if you email me. I have the Jan 1875 land record where Isaac and Huldah C Wickliffe sold their land and I have their signatures on it. She signed Huldah with an H. Then I have their actual marriage record not the one with the transcribed error. This was really hard to figure out so I hope it helps someone else. Huldah Catherine McDonald's widowed mother Rebecca (Johnson) McDonald is also in the 1880 census for Cherokee Co KS living with her other married daughter Jeptha McDonald Wickliffe. I do not know when Thomas McDonald, her father died or where.
