We are trying to identify a child's grave on private property, and the tombstone has only the initials D.N.P.. The "Gwinnett County Deaths, 1818-1989" indicates that it is believed to be the grave of a Perkins child. Another marker with no engraving is beside it, and the same book indicates that this may be an African American servant. I believe this could be the family in 1870 in Stone Mountain, Gwinnett County, Georgia (on modern maps, this is in south Gwinnett, not far north of the DeKalb County line): PERKINS, Sarah, 62, W, F PERKINS, Elizabeth, 39, W, F PERKINS, Mary, 25, W, F PERKINS, John, 22, W, M PERKINS, William, 20, W, M All were born in Georgia. Most are noted as unable to read or write, but Mrs. Perkins appears to own the land with a value of $250. I have not located this family in any previous or subsequent census, but I'll keep looking. If anyone recognizes these names, please let me know. Thanks! Notify Administrator about this message?
