Descendants of William David Perkins of Whitley Co., Kentucky

I just came across the "craziest find," but I'm still confused about the parentage of Jabez Perkins and his brother (or half-brother), Solomon Perkins. My grandson has a Mom and stepfather and his stepfather's family are all from McCreary County and Whitley County, Kentucky. My husband's maternal side are all from those two counties also. We always wondered if we were somehow related and I received the answer to that question the other day. While working on the stepfather's family tree, whose last name is Caddell, I found that a James M. Caddell was married to a Sarah Perkins. I found her death certificate online and it said that her parents were Solomon Perkins and Virginia Stephens.

Once I saw the Perkins name I just knew that our families were going to be related so I looked up the Perkins on my husband's side. His grandmother was Bertha Perkins. Well, to my surprise, Bertha's line goes back to William David Perkins also. He was the father to Solomon. But Bertha descends from William David's son, Jabez Perkins, the brother to Solomon. Now my problem is that William David was married to a Margaret "Peggy" McKee and also Rebecca Shepard, and I don't know who is the mother to whom.

To make a long story short, that would make my grandson and his stepfather, fifth cousins, once removed! To make matters sound funnier, my grandson would be sixth cousins to his two half-sisters!

I just need to find out who the mother is to Jabez and Solomon Perkins. Can anyone please help me?
