Underwood/Perkins/Jordan connection NC

In the 1850 census David S. Underwood was enumerated in the HH o f Elisha Bryant JORDAN...He was just 7 years old
Why? His parents were still living...
They did not die until the 1900s Also in the HH was a David Perkins...I am trying to find the parents of Nancy Perkins b. 1845...There is a family in Orange County, North Carolina...Possibly her mother was Martha Perkins
b. 1825 d. 1894...
Does anyone w/ the JORDAN family know the connection...It has been spoken that Basheba JORDAN m. Benjamin THomas UNDERWOOD, but I have not proof Basheba was a JORDAN or not only supposition.

Supposition is she was the daughter of Stephen Henry or Henry Stephen JORDAN and Edith Holder who married 12-12-1823...The time period fits for Basheba's birth.
