Ronnie,
I think what is most confusing to me is the difference of opinion in the two books I noted in my notes to you.
The Book "The Perkins Family History " that I quoted, was republished by the American Genealogical Research Institute, Washington,D.C. 1971. I do not know who the original author was.
It has:
John Perkins(4),(Jacob(3),Sgt.Jacob(2),John(1) of Ispwich), as being born Sept. 2nd.1687; m. Sarah Bailey and settled at Norwich,CT.

...........Mary Sholes.
..........[children of John(5) & Mary (Sholes) Perkins]
................1a.John Perkins(6) b. June 26th. 1751,
...................served in Capt. Waterman's Co. in
...................Revolution: d. 1813, m. Mary _______.
..........[Child of John Perkins(6) & Mary (_____) Perkins
...................1a1. Darius Perkins(7) b.1794, d.1833,
........................m. Esther Clark.
..........[children of Darius(7) & Esther (Clark) Perkins]
.........................1a1a.Warren Perkins(8) b.1819
.........................1a1b.Asa Perkins(8) b.1821
.........................1a1c.Capt.Schuble Perkins(8)b.1823
..............................d.1901, m. Ellen C. Brown.
The book "Rufus Perkins of Addison,VT" has the following children listed for John(5) & Mary (Sholes) Perkins

.........3.Bathsheba Perkins(6) b.1735 -{twins}

..................10j2.Phineaus Perkins(8)
..................10j3.John Perkins(8)
..................10j4.Servillian Perkins(8)
The Book "Jacob Perkins of Wells,Maine" does not follow the lineage of John Perkins(4)at all.
So as you see, I'm not sure to belive the lineage Miss Emily Ritchie Perkins, author of the book "The Perkins Family, A Sketch of Inter Colonial Migration" has for John Perkins who m. Lydia Mallsor/Mallsworth. I do not feel his lineage was>John(4),Jacob(3),Sgt.Jacob(2),John(1) of Ipswich,MA). I'm confused as to which book to believe, as I'm sure you will feel the same after reading all of this. It's better that you know my confusion then being unaware of the situation these two authors created for us. In the long run it's best you know all of this so that in the future when you would of run into the same problem, you may already have mastered an answer for it.
Whewwwwwwww... My fingers hurt now..
Sincerely,
Denise Perkins Ready
