I have a William Perkins who was born to Henry Perkins and Abigail Brent. Henry was from Currituck Co., N.C.
I know very little more about William Perkins, though. Maybe the will of William's father could shed some clues for the William you seek. I only have one William Perkins in my list and the one listed in the will below is him.

I have not seen the actual census, so it's possible but not likely that the above index is another Henry Perkins. I haven't found another one in that county, though.

"In the name of God, Amen, I, Henry Perkins, Senr. [g-1] of the County of Halifax & State of North Carolina being sick and weak of body, but of sound mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby utterly revoking all will or wills by me heretofore made and this only to be taken to be my last Will and Testament.
Imprimis, my will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid and satisfied.
Item - I give and bequeath unto my sons and daughters, to wit, to my sons Henry [II, g-2], Solomon, John, Joshua, James and Charles Brent Perkins and my daughter Ann Perkins five shillings each to them and their heirs forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Moses Perkins all the property which I have just put him in possession of and five shillings Specie to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Perkins all the property which I have put in this possessiontogether with five shillings Specie to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
Item - I give and bequeath unto my son William Perkins [g-2] all my household and kitchen furniture together with all my stock of every kind and everthing that I now possess that is not given away. He maintaining and procuring for my wife Abigail Perkins for and during her natural life and in case my said son William Perkins should depart this life before my said wife or in case my said wife should choose a division for what property bequeathed and mentioned in this clause then and in that case my will and desire is that my Estate be divided into two equal parts andmy wife to possess one for and during hernatural life and after her decease to descend or devolve unto my son William Perkins his heirs and assigns forever.
And lastly I do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my son William Perkins and William Wooten executors to this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 27 day of September A.D. 1788.
