Jeff;
I think we may have hit paydirt. Humphrey Perkins was married to a Mary DeShazo and had a son, Henry born c1665 in Old Rappahanock (Essex)County, Va. I was able to get this info from a Pat Perkins' Website
Perkins-Hottois-Burdette...Family. I can take my line straight back through to Humphrey. The Perkins/Purkins folks from Essex County are the same family because they were illeriate and spelled their names the way it sounded. Francis Perquins Sr.
and his son Francis were both on the First Supply Ship to Jamestown in 1608. (Again look at Pat Perkins' WebSite). Francais Sr. wrote a letter describing the conditions in Jamestown that first winter.

Evidently Francais Jr. lived to sire Humphrey
However, there is no record of him in the colonies as per the Jamestown Roles in 1621/22.
Anything else would be great!

Charlie Purkins
