A biography of George B. Perham, Hill County, MT, farmer, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 799 and 800.

George was born on his father's farm in Middlesex County, MA, 15 Sep 1870, second of four children of George O. and Frances E. (Bennett) Perham. Both George and Frances were born in Middlesex County; George, 1842-1905, and Frances, 1849-1910. Children: Nellie, George B., Mary, Belle (Mrs. Fred Higgens, Tyngsboro, MA)

George B. Perham was raised on the family farm in Tyngsboro, MA, and attended public schools. He took a course at Bryant and Stratton Business College in Boston then went to work for the New England Telephone Company doing office work in various places in New England. Later he was assigned to offices in New York City, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Fargo, San Antonio, and Dallas. On 15 May 1912, George Perham came to what is now Hill County, MT, and filed on a 160-acre homestead 30 miles west of Havre. His wife filed on an adjoining homestead, thus obtaining a farm of 320 acres plus another 320 acres of leased school land, where they raised wheat and raised about 30 head of horses and cattle.

On 14 Nov 1914, George married Mabel Macherracher, a native of Perth, Ontario.

In 1926-1928 California Voting Census, George and Mabel Perham were in Thornton, San Joachin Co., CA. George was an innkeeper.
