John P. PERDUE--WW2 Paratrooper--N.C.
Historian seeks information relating to John P. Perdue, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.
Entered Service from Guilford County.Served as PATHFINDER on Normandy Invasion--one of the first 174 men to land in France on D-Day.He survived the action but regrettably was killed in action on 27 Sept 44 on the tenth day of the Invasion of Holland.He is buried in the military cemetery in Belgium.
I have two photographs of Perdue.One taken an hour before his plane left for France, and a second taken in a foxhole in the combat zone.
