I don't know if you're still looking for this, but we have lots of information about James Percy, son of John Percy and Rebecca Best. James Percy's decendants include Percys, Gardners and Selbys, many from southern California. If you are looking for information about John Percy and Rebecca Best, we have some limited information about them as well.
James Percy had two brothers: Hugh and Thomas. All three were sent on the Orphan Train to Dunlap, Iowa in 1862. James's brother John Percy was actually Rebecca Best's child by her first marriage, possibly adopted by John Percy. John Percy (father) sailed around the horn of South America on a trip to check out the California gold fields, and died at sea. Rebecca died in New York. There is a biography about James Percy in the history of Ventura County, California at http://ca-files.biofiles.us/Storke607-649.htm. Some of it, however, is inaccurate. We have an autobiography. James Percy married Cora DeNice of Iowa, and had (at least) two sons: Stephen Percy and Hugo Percy, both of Ventura County, California.
