Médard Pepin married Marie-Émilie Beaulieu/Montpellier in Montebello (St-Charles parish) (Québec)on February 4, 1828. The reason why this marriage was difficult to find is that Medard Pepin was registered by mistake as Médard "Moreau". The registration states that the parents of Medard "Moreau" are "Louis "Moreau" of the parish of Saint-Esprit and feue Thérèse Desmarais". Probably the priest or clerk who wrote the registration made it after the wedding without reading it out loud. The registration bears only the signature of the priest, who states that the newly weds did not know how to sign. Emilie Beaulieu is said to be the widow of Paul Vincent from the parish of St-Michel de Vaudreuil.

So the parents of Médard Pepin are Louis Pepin and Thérèse Desmarais who married in L'Assomption (Québec) on January 22, 1799. The parents of Louis Pepin are François Pepin and Catherine Custeau. The parents of Thérèse Desmarais are Louis and Catherine Forest.
