Hi cousin
Was roaming around google and found your query. I am descendant of Dominique Benoit, son of Rose and Antoine. I will get back with more exact details. This family has been the subject of quite a few entries on the Benoit forum.
Rose effectively died in Dunham, 5 of the family members Rose (Joseph Labreche) Lucie Agathe (Alexandre Lesperance) Zoé ( Joseph Courtemanche)Dominique (Marie Letourneau and Jeanne Emélia Laflamme) Jean Baptiste (Celina Demers + 2 more)left Dunham and came back to the Magog and Compton areas. One son, Antoine (Marie Laplame) stayed in the Bedford area and died there. (This is from memory) You are correct Antoine Benoit and Rose Pepin left St Athanase (Iberville) 1828, moved to Georgia VT and then Enosburg VT in 1839. From documents, land contracts, in Enosburg, the death of death is 1847-49.
After Marieville 1815, the family went to St Luc, then St Athanase. Jean-Baptiste is baptised in St Luc. Dominique in St Athanase. There is a bit of family history to be yet dug up on the Benoit side, take a look at the Lavanway forum and Livernois forum. The move to Georgia, has a cooincidence to 3 Lavanway brothers, 2nd degree cousins to Antoine, living in Milton VT 10 miles away. Bonne chance.
