My connection is through the first husband of Nancy Lucas Magee Penton. He was Thomas Jefferson White b 26 Dec 1823 in Howard Co, MO and died 10 Dec 1848 in Macon Co, MO. He was shot and killed by Oliver Perry Magee. I suspect he was a brother to Nancy. I think I have a copy of the indictment of Oliver Perry Magee. Nancy md Thomas on 16 Jun 1845 in Macon Co, MO.
The son of Thomas Jefferson White and Nancy was James Wilson White b 29 Apr 1846 in Macon Co, MO. He died 16 July 1918 supposedly in CA and md Elizabeth V. Vickers. I found the following obit in Macon Co:
Mrs. W.V.Bailey was accidently shot and killed by her husband, 13 Feb 1903.She was formerly Miss M.E.Penton and lived south of Callao,MO. She was a half-sister of ex-sheriff, James W.White and a niece of James Penton of Callao. Do you know her given names?
I have books of Macon Co obits from 1889 to 1933 and deaths and marriages (1874-1888). If I can look up anything for you, please let me know. Sorry I know nothing of the Fletcher,Totty or Wheeler lines.
Thanks for your info!
