Pat, The earliest Penrod ancestors of ours that we can be certain of was Tobias Penrod at Old Mud River in Muhlenberg in Ky. A quote from the book that named those that migrated to Ky from Pennsylvania can be seen at this Muhl. site http://muhlenberg.genealogenie.net/dunker-migration.htm My problem now is trying to figure why there are 2 Tobias'. One says Henry Penrod's children and names those that were in Penn. when and where Tobias and the Johns were but I haven't found any Henry before I have seen someplace (probably google book) a part of Henry Jones' book that discusses the possiblity the first Penrod that came to America was "Poenradt" http://www.hankjones.com/ My daughter copied some pages from this book in the Paducah, Ky library. I don't remember without going through a briefcase full of papers, but one of the books I found mentions Tobias Penrod in the Revolutionary war. That might be "The History? of Cambria County. He and his son George are both buried at Old Mud River. George lived to be about 92. My mom is a Penrod. She is 91 now. George was her great granfather. Her grandfather was Leander Tobias "Granddad Lee" and her father and my "Pap Penrod" was George. If you're interested in their lives and religion before they left Germany, google "Palentine". Wish I had more time to work on this tree. Which of the Penrods have you researched? Notify Administrator about this message?
