I googled "History of Bedford and Somerset Counties" because I have found some really good Google Books this way. I didn't find a Google Book but I did find this sight

Don't know if you can get it but it looks like all or at least most of the book. Follow up books are mentioned. They might be just reprints or they might have later information.
Google Books have a search so that you can search just for the name Penrod. Some good searches are "Dunker Migration to Muhlenberg County" and "Turkeyfoot PA history"
