Sorry for massive delay. I had forgotten!
The Knaggs connection was through John of Limber Hill Farm, Glaisdale/Egton, whose wife was Elisabeth Knaggs, m. in 1861 at Egton as you now know. At Eskdaleside in 1861 Census is given Matthew Pennock, 29. Ironstone Miner. Born Cropton. Wife Hannah (nee Hannah Mary Skerry)and children John K.(Knaggs)6,born Whitby where his mother was born. Ann E. 4 and Sarah, 10 months.
John Knaggs died at Rosedale 1935, aged 80 and is buried in Pickering Cemetery where there is a stone.
