This is the same family. The Richard and Frances I sent in the list before had children:

Charles James 1831/32
Richard 1833/34
Ellen Mary Sarah 1835/36
Mary Elizabeth
Sarah Ann
James
Elizabeth
Francis
William

Not sure where Charles was born because they were in Essex in 1841 and says not there. Richard, Ellen, Mary, Sarah all born at Northfleet. They seemed to move around... James at Shoreditch, Elizabeth at Kent, Francis at Surry, William at Limehouse. This is all from census.

This is the same family. My William, son of Thomas and Eliza who settled in Hamilton, was uncle to your Richard and Charles. At least they were all together like a family group in the census at one time or another. Thomas' father was named Charles. So if naming patterns werre followed Richard would name his oldest son for his father--Charles. That would make the father Richard a brother to Thomas.

My Pennells were construction people and gardeners also.

I will check a map, as I am not familiar with the towns you mentioned in Canada.

Claire
