Hi Sharon,
I just looked my first e-mail over again.I fear I was somewhat confusing.I made mention Lucy Penn Hannah was the daughter of William & Lucy Penn Hannah.I meant grandaughter, as you know Lucy Penn Hannah was the daughter of Gabriel and Jane Young Hannah.Sorry.
Our William Hannah applied for a R/W pension on Oct. 13, 1842 in Greenup Co. KY, he stated his age at that time being 80 years old.He said he served in the Charles Co. MD Militia from 1777 (age 16) to 1782.To make a very long story short I did find the Final Account of "Alexander Hannan" who died in 1775 CC MD, listed were his widow Sarah and 6 orphaned children, William, Mary Ann, Robert, Alexander, Barton & Townley Hannah, their ages too.I do know for a fact that William, Robert & Townley finally settle in Greenup Co. KY and have lots of descendants there, myself included. What really surprised me was finding a number of Penn families in association with our early Hannah family, first record with the 2 names tied together is 1728 so far. I wonder if these Penn's in CC MD are closely related to our Penn families in VA.
