Last Will of Wm Penn, Dec’d In the name of God Amen: I William PENN of he County of Dade in the State of Missouri, of the age of eighty-eight years; and being of sound mind memory, do make public and declare this my last will and testament in manner following. That is to say: I five bequeath and devise my estate and property as follows: 1. My burial expenses and all my past debts to be paid out of any money or property which I may have. 2. I give and devise all my real estate unto Lewis SPAIN, Absolom RENFRO and Salina STARK to have and dispose of as they may think best. 3. I bequeath unto Sarah BECKHAM, Lucinda ROOKS, Catherine HOPPER, Jane WEBB, Marandah WILLIAMS, Elizabeth SALLINGS and Huldah MARTIN five dollars each. 4. The remainder of my personal property I bequeath unto Lewis SPAIN, Absolom RENFRO, and Salina STARK. 5. The foresaid Lewis SPAIN, Absolom RENFRO, and Salina STARK are to take care of and support myself and wife Elizabeth PENN during our lives. In witness whereof I this the 12th day of August 1873 do hereunto set my hand and seal. William PENN (his mark) Notes: Lewis SPAIN married Martha PENN; Absalom RENFRO married Mary ‘Polly’ PENN. Son William PENN, Hannah (married BATES), and Eliza (married CARRICO) not named in the will. William PENN married Elizabeth SNIDER SNYDER KING ? PENN grave marker (Davidson Cemetery, Dade Co, MO): born 1786 died age 89. William PENN born North Carolina, married in Tennessee, lived most of later life in Dade County Missouri.
