Lovely Penley Templeton, 86, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN,
went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, after
a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Sullivan County, TN on October 23, 1924,
graduated from Sullivan School and was a member of
Sunnyside Baptist Church. She retired from Massachusetts
General Hospital many years ago and made her home at Cross
Creek Apartments, Kingsport, giving loving support to
family, friends, and the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie
Forbes Penley; three brothers, Roy Penley, Fred Penley,
and Vernon Penley; and three sisters, Edna Peterson,
Margaret Penley, and Bonnie McFall.

Survivors include her son, Michael Templeton and wife
Sandra, of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Christy
(Bryan) Richardson, of Kingsport, TN, Kathy Fields, of
Johnson City, TN, and Scott (Rebecca) Templeton, of
Kingsport, TN; seven great grandchildren; sister, Ginny
(Richard) Shar, of PA; brother, Jim (Daryl) Penley, of PA;
and friends, Patricia Wampler, Karey McMurray, and Rudy

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to
Amedisys Hospice for their tender care to Lovely for
several months. We especially thank Misty Vennett and her
health aid, Linda Knight.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., on
Friday, May 6, 2011, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520
Watauga Street, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel
at 7 pm, with Dr. Roy Graves, officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday,
May 7, 2011, at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Those
attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Sunnyside
Baptist Church Building Fund, 406 Cooks Valley Road,
Kingsport, TN, 37664

Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving
the Templeton family.
