Florence V. Penley, 88, of Liberty Hill Road, Chuckey, TN,
the South Central community, died Friday morning, July 2,
2010, at Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born May 13, 1922.

She was a housewife and a member of Horse Creek Mission
Church, where she attended as long as her health permitted.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Abe Penley;
parents, Silas and Macey Tarlton; three sisters, Lessie
Painter, Mattie Tarlton, and Bertha Penley; two half-
brothers, Henry Tarlton and Richard Tarlton; and one half-
sister, Ida Hensley.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Silas
and Helen Penley, of the South Central community, Geater
and Doris Penley, of Greeneville, TN, and Benny and Sheila
Penley, of the South Central community; six grandchildren
and their spouses, Tim and Vanessa Penley, Tracy and Aneta
Penley, Macey Penley, Megan Penley, Mandy Penley, and
Sheena and Lynn Archer; three great-grandchildren, Tyler
Penley, Shaye Bright and her husband Eric Bright, and
Gunner Archer; one great-great-grandchild, Iziaha Babix; a
stepgrandson, Luke Rog; one sister, Hallie Hampton, of the
South Central community; one foster brother, Lee Dunbar,
of the South Central community; one sister-in-law, Polly
Penley of Greeneville, TN; several nieces and nephews,
including two special nephews, Howard Painter and James
Penley; and special friends, who called her 'Momma Florence',
Tom and Carol Spear, of the South Central Community.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.,
Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, in the
Doughty-Stevens Chapel.

The Rev. Amos Penley will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to meet in Liberty Cemetery
at 11 a.m., Monday, July 5, 2010, for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will
be the staffs of Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation
and Amedisyss Hospice.
