Martin Pendley, Dutchess County, New York

Kindly let me know if anyone has any leads that might help me. Martin Pendley (1803-1864) is buried in Pawling Rural Cemetery in Dutchess County, New York. He was my great-great-grandfather. I have been searching for years as to where he may have come from, and would like to be able to make a link with some other branch. The southeastern US has many Pendleys, but I'm finding evidence of some contemporaries of Martin in Maine. (Maybe it was Penley then?) Any input or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks!
