Go to the site www.familytreedna.com search under Penix and you will see that there are Penix, Pinnix, I believe we need a male Penick to submit DNA for testing. I believe I may be a Penick. My DNA test prove that I am not related to any of the Penix trees tested yet. My 3 great grandfather from Hamilton County TN was John Penix....in the 1860 Census it shows his name as John Penick....He is buried at Andersonville Georgia in the National Park under the tombstone of John Penix. DNA test would tell us a great deal of information. I would go for the 12 mark test. I did the 25 mark test. The 12 mark test is less money and it will still tell you ethinic orgins from 10,000 years ago!
