Josiah and Joseph Penick

Does anyone know the connection that Joseph Penick had to Josiah Penick that I find in the Virginians
"Family of John W Pritchett" as follows:
Josiah Penick [888.7.11] married Elizabeth S. Allen in Cumberland County 25 November 1811 . She
was the daughter of Charles Allen and Elizabeth Chambers. Elizabeth died before her husband
wrote his will on 21 May 1817.
During the War of 1812, he commanded Capt. Joseph Penick’s Company of Light Artillery attached to
the 7th Regiment of Virginia Militia.
On my gggrandfather's pension application for the War of 1812 he states that his Captain was named
Josiah Penick.
