John Willis Pendley, age 84 of Jasper,Ga. died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his residence. Born May 19, 1923 in Pickens County, Ga., he was the son of the late William Joseph and Georgia Belle Norton Pendley. Services held at 11:00 A.M. May 15 at Long Swamp Baptist Church where he was a member since 1939 and served as deacon since 1973. Interment in the church cemetery. He was a U.S.Army veteran having served during WW II in 3rd Infantry Division, member Marble Hill Masonic Lodge, DAV and American Legion. He retired from Georgia Marble Co.in 1993.
