Sandy, I received both your e-mail and the genforum entry and it is obvious that you have better information than the chart. I am looking for all of the information that I can get. According to the W N Oates and Jewell Pendley chart, which I believe is what you are referring to, the children of Lee Chasteen Pendley were Rice B, Ivy Hazel, Owen L, Loren Putman, James, Alex M and William G I have Rice B in the chart and also in the 1910 and 1920 census along with his death record. I do not have wife or children for him. I have a James listed in the chart with wife Madeline Warner and children James B, Janice, Larene, Steven, Shelia, and Richard. I have an Alex M listed in the chart and also in the Merriel Austin book as Alene M Pendley with wife, Otha Tucker, and children Margaret, Ola Belle, Freda Louise, B Clyde and Ray (supposedly he married a Smith) Can you help me to sort this out? Oh, and as an aside, a little clarification on the chart. Most people agree that Joe is Joseph, most likely the son of James Pendley who moved to Grayson co KY abt 1810 from North Carolina. The lower scraggly twigs coming off the lower trunk are children of Joe or Joseph. The top section of the tree trunk, including all of the branching, is of Joseph's oldest son, Benjamin, who married Emily Bancum (the one listed as of Cherokee descent) Martin S Pendley Notify Administrator about this message?
