William D Pendleton mystery a clue
Posted by: Roxanne Pendleton (ID *****1707) Date: December 06, 2007 at 07:17:23

I have for about 30 years now searched for the parents of William D Pendleton born 1794 in the New England/Nova Scotia area. I know his father was Nathaniel and that he had three Nathaniels in the family.

I have now been given info that a book written about the Coberly's by John Arthaud lists William D.'s mother as Cynthia West. (HURRAY!!) Evidently the info came from the children still alive when William D.'s second wife Sarah Coberly died.

My question is if anyone knows of William D being added to any family chart with Cynthia and Nathaniel Pendleton. He would have been born afer the birth of the last child listed on the trees I have seen and when his mother would have been 47. One of the trees does list a brother Nathaniel lost as sea at the same time William D and a brother were impressed by the British during the War of 1812 from their father's fishing boats. Both were initially assumed lost at sea by the family.

Any help much appreciated. Also posted my father's DNA to the Pendleton World Families cite. Great work and a big help.Thumbs up. Roxanne
